Director/Senior Director, Clinical Biomarker Development

Job Description

Compugen is a clinical-stage therapeutic discovery and development company utilizing its broadly applicable, predictive computational discovery platforms to identify novel drug targets and develop first-in-class therapeutics in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Our therapeutic pipeline consists of immuno-oncology programs against novel drug targets we discovered computationally, including T cell immune checkpoints and additional early-stage immune-oncology programs focused largely on myeloid targets. As we advance our pipeline, we are looking for a candidate with expertise in clinical biomarker development. The successful candidate is expected to work cross functionally within the company on multiple projects. This position reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

  • Advanced degree in the life sciences MSc, PhD
  • Minimum 10 years experience with demonstrated track record and understanding of the regulatory guidance for bioassay development, IVD and companion diagnostics
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience in oncology clinical trial study design and novel patient enrichment strategies
  • Experience with leading clinical biomarker-related regulatory interactions
  • Demonstrated track record of success working on cross functional multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to act proactively and effectively applying creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent strategic planning, organizational and communication skills (including, written and oral presentation skills)
  • This role requires up to 20% travel

Job Requirements

  • Lead clinical biomarker development strategy to support the pipeline
  • Work closely with internal (discovery and validation) and external stakeholders (CROs) throughout the drug development process
  • Engage key opinion leaders to implement and advance the clinical biomarker strategy
  • Drive biomarker-related scientific and technical innovation in support of the pipeline
