Team Leader/Associate Director Human Immuno-Oncology Bioassays

Job Description
The Associate Director will report to the Head of Validation and Early Development in the R&D group. The candidate will lead a team of scientists performing human immunological assays in the process of validation of novel immunomodulatory molecules and functional screening of Abs toward lead therapeutic Ab selection. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing all human bioassays in the group including design, execution, and reporting. He/she will provide the highest-level of scientific expertise through the entire validation and early development process including interactions with other R&D teams and all levels of management. In addition, the candidate will take a scientific leadership position in the group, will lead scientific brain-storming, will provide scientific support to target champions and will participate and contribute to strategic pipeline discussions. The candidate is expected to think out of the box, propose original solutions to complex problems, master multiple immunological techniques and be updated in recent advances in the cancer immunotherapy field.

  • Design immunological validation programs for novel targets
  • Monitor execution and reporting of human immunological assays in the group
  • Provide scientific leadership for projects in the group
  • Lead presentations, abstracts and manuscript preparations
  • Present data and scientific information to all levels in the organization, to scientific advisory board and external collaborators
  • Be involved in managing budget and set objectives designed to achieve corporate goals
  • Mentor and provide personal development plans for the team members

Job Requirements

  • PhD in immunology (preferred)/biology/ medical science or related field – must
  • More than 5 years of immunological research experience (post-PhD) in academic or preferably corporate environment – must
  • Extensive experience in immunological cell based assays – must
  • Vast experience with multicolor FACS analysis – must
  • Scientific background in immune-oncology is highly desired
  • Track record of scientific accomplishment as evidenced by quality and quantity of publications and/or inventions
  • Minimum 3 years experience of managing a team in a corporate environment – must
