Nucleic Acid Diagnostics
Compugen modified a few of its computational discovery methods and developed new techniques for biomarker discovery in the field of nucleic acid diagnostics. Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) technologies detect RNA molecules that are differentially expressed in disease versus healthy samples. Compugen’s computational discovery platforms are designed to directly identify such RNA molecules. Based on this discovery capability, Compugen entered into a collaboration with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries to discover biomarkers that will detect drug toxicity at the preclinical stage of the drug development process. To date, Compugen has discovered biomarker candidates that are expected to be used as nucleic-acid testing combination biomarkers for diagnosis of cancers including lung, breast, ovarian and colon.
